Summer Time

Updated: Jul 27, 2023

Enjoy long lazy days, warm nights and bright mornings. Relax here at forest palms, have a dip and a snooze on your loungers - contemplate the rest your day! There's lots to do if you want.

Walk along the paths and tails across heathland and woodland - the coast too why not. See the adorable free-roaming new-born New Forest pony foals and baby donkeys - we have them right here and also right outside our house sometimes! It is best to keep some distance. Cycle local off-road trails, get away from the hustle and bustle. Bring your bike or hire them.

Take a torch and map and try an evening or night-time walk. There’s no light pollution near us here so you can often see the evening sky dazzling with stars. You’ll almost certainly hear some of the owls and maybe even spot some bats. A walk in the dark back from one of our pubs is a fun and romantic thing to do too.

Take to the waters of the New Forest for the ultimate outdoor adventures. Local to us just 2 miles down the road is the New Forest Water Park. There's 43 miles of coastline if you wish.. Bournemouth and Sandbanks beach, Boscombe, Southbourne, Highcliffe .. have a safe dip.

Use the summer months to indulge in the the Japanese art of appreciating the world around you. Research shows that even just being in a forest improves your mental and physical wellbeing .

BBQs: Due to the high risk of wildfires, Forestry England has announced that fires of any type, including disposable BBQs, are not permitted on the land they manage at this time. All BBQ facilities at visitor spots in the New Forest have therefore been closed. We have a bbq here for guest use, so no worries :)
